Change in Access Route and Port Numbers for ECT Delta terminal

Change in Access Route and Port Numbers for ECT Delta terminal
To improve safety and traffic flows to the ECT Delta terminal, infrastructure changes are being made. These adjustments aim to separate container traffic from other traffic earlier, ensuring smoother traffic handling and reducing congestion.

The main change involves the creation of an additional fork on the Coloradoweg after leaving the N15 viaduct. Traffic will be divided into container traffic and other traffic. Container traffic must follow the new port number 8201. Other traffic, including ECT employees, third-party workers at the ECT Delta terminal, suppliers, and visitors to the terminal or vessels, should follow the new port number 8202. Port number 8200 will be expired for the ECT Delta terminal.

New, initially temporary, traffic signs will clarify the situation. The sign pointing to port number 8201 will temporarily include “container pick-up and delivery,” while the sign for port number 8202 will temporarily include “visitors and suppliers.” These additions are not allowed on the final permanent traffic signs.

This extra fork also means that the traffic light for turning right from the N15 to the Coloradoweg will not always be on ‘green’ anymore, as traffic on the Coloradoweg will first be reduced to one lane to facilitate the fork.

The changes will be implemented in September, following the completion of necessary works.

Required Works

To implement the above, roadworks will take place on and around the Coloradoweg from Monday, August 25 to Monday, September 15 at 05:00. Between Monday, August 25 and Friday, September 12 at 22:00, there will be minor traffic disruptions. From Friday, September 12 at 22:00 to Monday, September 15 at 05:00, a detour will be in place due to refurbishment of the Coloradoweg.

The ECT Delta terminal will remain accessible throughout the entire period for both container and regular traffic.
