This transition is part of a broader modernization of ECT’s security infrastructure and aligns with our ambition to optimize both security and operational flow. Facial recognition is fast, contactless, and reliable, contributing to a future-proof access process.
The rollout of the new FROC equipment starts on Monday 8 September at the ECT Euromax terminal, where the first device will be installed in one of the security-in lanes (lane 8, to the right). The other three lanes at ECT Euromax terminal will follow thereafter. The ECT Delta terminal will be equipped with the same FROC technology soon after.
To maintain access to the terminals after the implementation of the new system, all drivers must have facial recognition registered on their CargoCard. Without a CargoCard equipped with facial recognition, access to the terminals will eventually no longer be possible. The finger vein technology will be fully phased out in due course.
On the homepage, www.ect.nl, a dossier is published titled “Facial Recognition via CargoCard”, containing up-to-date information in multiple languages, including Frequently Asked Questions.
We count on everyone’s cooperation during this transition and will keep you informed of any further developments.
